On 1 March 2020, exactly 30 years have passed since the launching of the first conscript orchestra in Hamina. Over the years, the path of the Conscript Band has travelled via Lahti to the Armoured Brigade in Parola. The Conscript Band is now headed by Captain Ville Paakkunainen as the Commander and Conductor, and First Lieutenant Juhani Valtasalmi as the Conductor. The versatility of the Conscript Band, the skills of the young musicians and about 200 performances per year are something that no other ensemble can do.
Preliminary 2021 programme. The possibility of changes reserved.

The jubilee year of Hamina Tattoo opens at the Hamina Bastion with an unprecedented show celebrating the 30 years of existence of the Conscript Band of the Finnish Defence Forces!  The Conscript Band with about 100 performers will instantly change its composition from a symphonic brass band to a drum group, show band and everything in between.  In the August evening, we will witness some top soloists who have served in the band. These include the baritone Kristian Lindroos, winner of the Lappeenranta singing competition in 2016, and Visa Haarala, solo trumpeter of Kymi Sinfonietta. The evening show will be hosted by Second Lieutenant (reserve) Maria Tyyster and Private First Class (reserve) Mikael Konttinen.
