Kymenlaakson Jäte Oy organizes free collection of hazardous waste Kuorsalo, Tammio, Haapasaari, Kaunissaari, Kuutsalo and Kirkkonummaa for residents.
The collection accepts household hazardous waste, electrical appliances and scrap metal. In addition, you can bring emergency flares, powder extinguishers and car tires to the collection. The collection is intended for those living in the archipelago or those who have summer cottages. Household hazardous waste, electrical appliances and metals are also accepted free of charge at all our waste stations all year round.

Instructions for those coming to the collection
Waste must be brought in for collection when the collection vessel and personnel are on site. No waste may be brought in advance or left on the piers. Liquid waste must be brought for collection in intact and tightly sealed packaging.
Hazardous waste These include paints, varnishes, adhesives, solvents, waste oils, plant protection and pesticides, batteries, energy-saving lamps, fluorescent tubes and medicines. Waste must not be mixed together, and it is best to bring it for collection in its original packaging.
Electrical appliances are all household appliances that run on electricity, batteries or accumulators.
Scrap metal Examples include sheet metal, gutters, metal pipes, bicycles, heaters (without stones) and other metal objects that are at least half metal in material.
In collection not taken against impregnated wood, asbestos and other waste fractions (e.g. building demolition waste).
