In the “Explore the workplace and earn money” program, young people can earn money through summer internships in 2026. • In 2026, the salary will typically be 395–425 euros in lump sum, including holiday pay. The exact amount depends on the industry.
• The company pays the internship salary directly, and statutory social security contributions are deducted from it depending on age. 

Who is the program suitable for?

• The program is aimed at young people who are under 18 years of age, in middle or high school, or in VALMA training. 
• The internship lasts two weeks (or 10 working days) between June and August. 
• Contact companies directly and ask about available internships. 
• Many large chains, such as Lidl, advertise the program on their own career pages. 
• In some positions, such as working at the cash register, being of legal age is a requirement. 
• If you are under 18 years old, work is restricted and must not interfere with school attendance.
