Welcome to the City of Hamina grants information event on Wed 19 November at 5:00 PM
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 5:00 PM, information on current grants and application advice will be organized in the Blue Cabinet of the Hilma Partnership House.
The event is intended for Hamina residents and associations and organizations operating in Hamina. The event will include presentations on the new separate application for targeted grants for the months of early 2026, grants from the William and Helvi Säles Foundation, and information on the schedule and processing times for the Healthy Hamina Citizen grant application.
The presenters are Hamina's cultural producer Henni Kiri and well-being coordinator Mia Iivonen, who will also answer questions and advise on applying for grants.
Coffee will be served at the event.
We collect information, and subsequently also grant applicants' own experiences of the grant processes. This information will be used to develop the city's grant practices in an increasingly appropriate direction in the future, serving applicants and grant processors in the best way.
Would you like to participate in the event remotely?

The City of Hamina awards grants to associations and organizations, as well as to individual residents and companies, through four types of grant forms or applications. You can read more about the general principles of grants: Well-being of Hamina residents grants from the page.
Well-being of Hamina residents grants are allocated to registered communities in Hamina in the form of cultural, sports, youth and other welfare-promoting grants. Grants are applied for in the turn of the year application for the following operating year. The Vitality and Wellbeing Committee decides on cultural, sports, youth and other welfare-promoting grants and awards.
A youth association is defined as an association whose members have at least 2/3 of them under the age of 29. Read more about the decision confirmed by the Hamina Vitality and Wellbeing Committee here from the assistance guidelines.
Pop-up grants (small grants) can apply throughout the year, and private citizens or companies can also apply. The pop-up grants awarded to private individuals, working groups formed by private individuals, or communities are decided by the official.
Grant guidelines and practices are being updated in a streamlined manner and to meet the needs of applicants. Alongside the old forms of grant, this year we will be experimenting for the first time with separate additional search for targeted grants. Targeted grants, which are applied for in November for the beginning of the following year, are intended for for operations in early 2026, which the grants from the Healthy Hamina Citizen grant application are not yet available. The grants for the target grants will follow the euro amounts of the target grants awarded in the Healthy Hamina Citizen call, with a maximum of approximately 3000-4000 euros per target applied for. The grants are always discretionary depending on the target of the grant and how credible and high-quality the application with its project plans and budget appears.
The new target grant procedure does not replace or eliminate the old Healthy Hamina Citizen grant application, which will be opened to applicants from 24 November and will be open until 5 January 2026 at 4:00 p.m. The general application period for 2026 grants has therefore also been slightly brought forward and extended at the request of the communities. The practice of small grants applied for throughout the year will also be maintained and developed to be more agile; in the future, applications will be processed and granted regularly, approximately every month. Individual residents of the municipality, working groups or companies can also apply for small grants.
One of the innovations included in the city's grant applications is the addition of William and Helvi Säles Foundation grant application, which is carried out twice a year, in spring and autumn. The Säles Foundation's grants are intended for activities that promote the well-being of the elderly and the elderly in the Hamina area. Associations and organizations can apply for the grant.
