Tervasaari street closure experiment in summer 2026
The City of Hamina has installed bollards in the Tervasaari area to prevent vehicles from entering the Tervasaari port area in Hamina. The City of Hamina plans to test the functionality of the bollards in the summer of 2026, initially from 1 June to 31 August 2026. During the trial period, we will collect experiences from the use of the bollards, the customer experience of visitors, and the views of operators on the trial, after which a decision will be made on their continued use.
The Urban Development Committee will decide on the introduction of bollards in spring 2026. We are now asking for comments on the implementation of bollards by Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 4 p.m.We will compile the comments received to support the committee's decision-making.
Tervasaari operators would have their own access keys/mobile keys to open the bollards. In addition, there would be a number code that could be given to suppliers/boat launch operators, for example. The number code could be obtained, for example, by calling the City of Hamina's customer service or the property duty officer.
We are asking for comments on the Tervasaari area street closure trial in 2026.
