A smooth everyday life belongs to all ages – Hamina Senior Fair offers information and experiences
The City of Hamina, in collaboration with several associations and local companies, is organizing the long-awaited Senior Fair at the Hamina Sports Hall on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00. The purpose of the fair is to bring together local expertise, diverse services and new perspectives that support an active and safe life. This year, the theme is functional capacity and smooth everyday life for all ages. The day offers its visitors not only useful information, but also the opportunity to meet other city residents in a warm and inspiring atmosphere.
Fair day starts at 10:05 AM Pentti Hannula with opening words, after which the audience can enjoy the meeting place worker's Pia Auralan Tuppura's Jussi monologue. The mini-play is based on a poem by Aaro Hellaakoski and in the story Tuppura wants to decorate his old wife with gifts he has acquired on his city trips. In addition, during the day, there will be brief information sessions presenting information about the services of the Kymenlaakso welfare area, such as the operation of the fall screening system, family care, brain health, and mental health and substance abuse services. There will be several exhibitors from different fields.
In addition to the program, there is excitement in the air at the fair, as 60 tickets are being given away in a wheel of fortune raffle. To the Hamina Tattoo event! The tickets were obtained thanks to the Finnish Welfare Promotion Fund, which makes our fair possible!
Free meals are available to fairgoers, including pea soup, bread, coffee and a bun. For the first 250 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Food will be prepared by the Jaspis Encounters Kitchen in the Café – Living Room. The event will end with a vote of thanks from Pentti Hannula at 12:50 p.m.
