Pappilansalmi School
Welcome to school!
School work begins on Wednesday, August 12th at 9:00 AM from the play area! Class teachers and class supervisors will pick up their class students from the play area. The school day ends at 1:00 PM for everyone.
Pappilansalmi School is a comprehensive school in the city of Hamina, with a little over 500 students. Education is provided from preschool age to 9th grade.

Pappilansalmi School is the Olympic Committee's sports upper secondary school. At Pappilansalmi School, students from the 7th grade onwards have the opportunity to apply for a sports class, where they can be offered South Kymenlaakso Sports Academy with additional training opportunities.
The purpose of the Sports Academy is to enable the combination of goal-oriented sports activities and studies. Additional training takes place outside of class hours and is therefore voluntary, but more ambitious athletes take advantage of this opportunity.
A middle school that is part of the sports academy network supports and gives athletic youth the opportunity to smoothly combine schooling and training in cooperation with homes, sports clubs, sports federations and the sports academy.
In the seventh grade, the sports class includes, in addition to the physical education according to the curriculum, general training and the opportunity for additional training. There is no sports training in the seventh grade yet. In the eighth and ninth grades, sports training is included, which takes place once a week, as well as one physical training exercise and the opportunity to participate in additional training. In Hamina, the sports currently are football and baseball. There is a lot of cooperation in the training with local clubs.
