Would you be the new library café operator? 

We are looking for a new operator for the café at Hamina Main Library. We offer comfortable premises in the main library, which was renovated a few years ago. The café must be open according to the library's opening hours and the operator must have the appropriate permits and food legislation. There are 12 customer seats inside (in the summer, there is also a balcony with about ten customer seats). A nominal fee will be charged for the use of the premises to cover electricity, water and waste management costs. We are looking for a new operator for the café at Hamina Main Library. We offer comfortable premises in the main library, which was renovated a few years ago. We hope that the café will contribute to strengthening the library's role as a common living room for the people of Hamina. We are offering the operator a sales point and a café space with twelve customer seats. The café space is 40,5 m² in size. There is a balcony in connection with the café with about ten customer seats. The premises have been furnished by the city's property services and the library.

There is also a small (6,5m²) kitchen available, with a fridge, freezer, oven and microwave. The operator can either prepare the products for sale in the library premises or deliver products prepared and transported under the required temperatures and conditions from elsewhere.

We are primarily looking for a long-term café operator who has the prerequisites for regular operations according to the library's opening hours. It is hoped that the café will serve customers during regular opening hours on weekdays.

The city reserves the right to organize events from time to time in the café's customer space by prior arrangement, in which case the café may be either closed or open depending on the service provider's decision.

Electricity, water and waste management are included in the agreement. The city is also responsible for the annual maintenance of the premises, building services, property management and maintenance of kitchen equipment. The service provider is responsible for cleaning the kitchen space. The city is responsible for cleaning the floor and furniture of the customer space. A nominal fee is charged for the use of the premises to cover electricity, water and waste management costs.

The operator is obliged to ensure that it has all the necessary official permits for its operations and that the operator complies with the requirements of food legislation in its café operations.

We ask applicants to submit a free-form description of the activities offered, which includes at least the following information:

Description of operations/business plan
Description of the provider (operator description and experience)
Description of the product range
Possible known partners

The City of Hamina will select the operator based on negotiations, and the operator will be selected as soon as a suitable one is found. It is hoped that the café operations will start as soon as possible.
