A clean new start for school and kindergarten in Neuvottoma!

The move of the unaccompanied school and daycare to new premises has been exemplary, and the meticulous work in cleaning and decluttering deserves special praise. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and commitment to a safe and healthy indoor environment.

The purpose of the key personnel meeting, which was held as an initial preparation, was to ensure that the move to the new premises would go smoothly in accordance with the instructions of the indoor air working group. The participants were cleaning supervisor Pia Mentunen, health inspectors Harri Julkunen and Tuula Tikerpuu, early childhood education manager Johanna Oleander, maintenance manager Sari Antila, and early childhood education unit director Aleksi Yli. The main objective of the meeting was to agree on the details and divide responsibilities so that only clean and safe goods would be moved to the new premises.

The emptying of the daycare and school premises was carried out in accordance with the instructions of the indoor air working group. This meant that only the most essential items were moved to the new premises, and each item to be moved was thoroughly cleaned before transport. Hard furniture, such as desks and chairs, that could be used elsewhere were thoroughly cleaned and moved away immediately after cleaning. Property Services handled the transport and emptying in an exemplary manner according to the schedule set by the urban development manager. It was also particularly great that during the emptying, items were collected to be sent to Ukraine for further use. Valuable help was also received from school attendance counselors from other schools in emptying the school.

Everyone involved in the project deserves a big thank you for the excellent work done in terms of move-out cleaning and emptying the premises. Exemplary adherence to the Indoor Air Working Group’s instructions has ensured that nothing is taken into the new buildings without being cleaned. This has minimised the risk of indoor air problems in the new location and created a safe and healthy environment for children and staff to work and learn. The move of the unaccompanied school and daycare is a great example of how careful planning and committed work can create the best possible environment for the future.
