The keys to the new school and daycare building have been handed over - users and functionality have been at the heart of the design
Neuvottoman's new school and daycare building was received on July 4, 2025, upon completion. The final finishing touches will be made to the building during July. The project has progressed according to the given schedule and the school, preschool and daycare groups will be able to start their normal activities in early August. Overall, we are satisfied with the project and the interior and the yard designed by the garden designer exude functionality, where children have been taken into account.

The goal has been to build an early childhood education unit in the true sense of the word and I would dare to say that the goal has been achieved. For my part, I can say that Neuvottoman early childhood education has been updated to be more modern, taking into account the users. The new Neuvottoman school and daycare building will serve the residents of the Neuvottoman area better in the future. Cooperation with various actors has been smooth. I would especially like to thank Suvi Takkinen, Johanna Oleander and Nina Jane from the Basic Education Unit of the City of Hamina, as well as Toni Puustinen, Tommi Saarainen and Sari Antilaa from the City of Hamina Property Services. Finally, I would also like to highlight how pleasant it has been to cooperate with Elementit-E Oy. We, as users, have been taken into account throughout the project.
Aleksi Yli, Director of the Independent Early Childhood Education Unit
The environmentally friendly facilities offer children and young people a diverse and inspiring framework for growth and learning. The timber-framed and wood-clad building was built by Elementit-E Oy on the site of the former Neuvottoman School.
I am very happy with the completion of the project and satisfied with the contractor's implementation. Despite the tight schedule, the project was completed on schedule.
Toni Puustinen, Urban Development Manager, City of Hamina
