Everyday encounters – a bicycle with flowers.

A warm welcome to the main celebration of Senior Citizens' Week – the theme is "Everyday Encounters".

This year, the theme of the week is “Everyday Encounters”. You are warmly welcome to join us to celebrate and spend time together on Thursday, October 8.10th from 14-16pm in Simeon Hall (Pikkuympyräkatu 34 B).

This year's theme highlights the moments between people that may not seem big, but which have enormous significance for the everyday life of an elderly person. The city of Hamina traditionally participates in celebrating the Senior Citizens' Week with a diverse program. The events offer opportunities to meet, stop and share important moments together, just as the week's theme suggests.

The main festival program is full of culture and encounters

The celebration will feature a diverse program, speeches, and a nice get-together over traditional cake and coffee.

Today's program:

  • Poetry performance – Meeting place worker Pia Aurala performs Aaro Hellaakoski's poem "Tuppuran Jussi"
