Kymenlaakson Jäte Oy is organizing a free mobile collection of household hazardous waste, electrical appliances and scrap metal in Hamina on 3–4.7 July. The collection round will also include an oil suction truck, so household waste oils can also be brought in barrels for collection. Empty barrels will be left with the importer. The Parik Foundation will also be taking donations of good quality items.

Instructions for the next collection
- Waste must be delivered directly to collection vehicles. No waste may be brought in advance or left at the stopping points. Liquid waste must be brought for collection in intact and tightly closed containers.
- Hazardous waste collection includes household waste oils, batteries, paints, varnishes, energy-saving lamps, fluorescent tubes and medicines. Waste must not be mixed with each other, and it is best to bring it for collection in its original packaging. If the waste is not in its original packaging, the contents must be labeled appropriately.
- Scrap metal of all sizes is accepted for collection. Items that are suitable for metal collection are those that are at least 50% metal.
- Household appliances and electronics are accepted for the collection of electrical equipment.
- Impregnated wood, vehicle tires, and asbestos are not accepted for collection.
The following items will be donated to the donation truck:
- good and clean furniture, sofas, tables and chairs
- usable household items, dishes, lamps, decorative items, rugs and toys
- clean and intact clothes, shoes and accessories
- books, CDs and DVDs
- bicycles
Donated goods are sold at Parik Ekomaa recycling stores, and the proceeds are used for local employment activities.
