Youth council
What is Nuva?
The Hamina Youth Council is a group of actors and influencers of young people aged 13-25 from Hamina, which operates under the Healthy Hamina process and decision-making organization.
The Youth Council is involved in the decision-making of the City of Hamina through its city council and committee representatives, as well as through many of the city's preparatory working groups.
The Hamina Youth Council organizes events on a youth-for-youth basis. One of the most significant events of the year is Normipäivä X Tattoo. Another important event that has already become a tradition is the Youth Wellbeing Seminar organized during the Child Rights Week. The Youth Council is a close-knit group where everyone gets to influence, participate and learn about decision-making.

Youth council-friendly municipality 2025-2027
The Youth Council-Friendly Municipality certificate is a recognition granted by the Finnish Association of Youth Councils to municipalities and welfare areas that promote youth participation and youth council opportunities in a commendable manner.
