New for the city of Hamina urban strategy has been confirmed in December 2025. To support the strategy, the management team and superiors of the City of Hamina have formed leadership promises, the aim of which is to build an even more vibrant Hamina.
New leadership promises are built on goodwill, a positive attitude towards change and courage. Good will is reflected in everyday life as building trust, supporting others and focusing on solutions. Developing the work community and continuous change are seen as an opportunity that is actively approached with anticipation of the future. A commitment to courage in action and decision-making promotes a safe culture of experimentation, where human errors are seen as a natural and valuable part of learning new things.
To ensure that the personnel are equally committed to implementing our shared Hamina, personnel promises are also formed in the work units. In line with the management promises, personnel promises come directly from the people involved and guide the work that creates a shared world-class city culture and our Hamina.
Our Hamina is made for the city's residents, and with the leadership promises, we aim to further improve the common direction for a world-class small city. A modern, humane and permissive work culture gives employees the space to act boldly and bring forward their own development proposals. Goodwill as an important attitude and value is visible to both the staff, the city's residents and partners. The goal of a serving city is to be easily approachable, so that everyone who has contact with the city can boldly express their own views on our Hamina and its future development. World-class Hamina is ready to renew itself towards the future and actively develop its services for the benefit of the city's residents.
