Registry Office
The registry office receives documents addressed to the Town of Hamina, both paper documents and those submitted electronically. The office registers, scans and forwards documents to the relevant service units. These include including applications, municipal initiatives, complaints, appeals, requests for statements, statements, responses and explanations, decisions, petitions, announcements, replies, letters, offers, agreements and many other documents.

Archive
The task of central archives is to preserve the documentary material of various operational units designated by law for permanent or long-term storage.
The publicity and use of documents are restricted by the sections of the Publicity Act, the Personal Data Act and special laws. The use of documents is subject to the instructions given for the handling of general documents. Documents are not lent to private individuals outside the archive. The most common archive requests include maternity hospital cards, vaccination records, and school certificates.
