The City Council will meet on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The Hamina City Council will convene on Monday, March 1,6, 2026 at the Town Hall. The meeting will discuss, among other things, the city councilor's request to resign from all positions of trust. The matter will proceed to the council's consideration. In addition, the meeting will discuss the Ministry of Finance's recent decisions on government transfers for 2026. The government transfer for Hamina's basic services is approximately 1.6 million euros, which includes the equalization of the government transfer based on tax revenue, which is 2,6 million euros.
The City Council will also discuss applying for membership in the Finnish Hydrogen Valley Association at its meeting. The aim of the Finnish Hydrogen Valley Association is to promote the hydrogen economy in eastern Finland. Membership would allow the City of Hamina to participate in the industrial development and securing of energy supply in eastern Finland. In addition, membership would bring important research information and networks to the city.
