The City Council will meet on October 13, 2025.

The Hamina City Council will convene on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Town Hall. The meeting will discuss, among other things, the extension of the land lease agreement and the reorganization of land lease rights in the port area. In addition, the meeting will discuss three issues related to land acquisition. According to the Pre-emption Act, the municipality has a pre-emptive right in the sale of real estate located in the municipality, and it can be used to acquire land for, among other things, community development needs. According to the proposal, the city would use the pre-emptive right in three different real estate sales in the Reitkalli and Vilniemi areas.

The meeting will also discuss, among other things, policies regarding the refund of unjustified payments. In addition, the meeting proposes that the city withdraw from its membership in Kehittyvä Hamina ry and Elävät kaupunkikeskustat ry. The meeting will also decide on the approval of the 2025 activity report and 2026 use plan of the Welfare Promotion Fund.
