The City Council met on October 13, 2025.

The City Council convened on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Town Hall. The meeting decided to submit to the council for consideration a few changes related to elected positions due to the deputy councilor's move from Hamina. In addition, the meeting decided to submit to the city council for approval an agreement on the organization of integration promotion services in South Kymenlaakso. The agreement is a continuation of the agreements made in previous years on the organization of integration promotion services in accordance with the Integration Act.

In addition, the meeting decided, among other things, to increase the budget loan in accordance with the current year's budget. The meeting also approved a list of measures drawn up to develop internal control and risk management. The purpose of the list of measures is to support the functionality of the city's internal control and risk management and to clarify uniform operating models.
