Applying for early childhood education

Early childhood education options include private home day care, daycare centers and kindergarden as well as in free of charge public early childhood education activities.

Home daycare is early childhood education that takes place in a caregiver's home in a small group of children, usually consisting of four children.

Activities in daycare centers is provided in group format. Age of the child, sibling relationships, and the possible need for special care and support considerations are taken into account when daycare groups are formed. Daycare centers are generally open from 6.30:17.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. The daycare center offers evening, night, and weekend care for children who require it due to their parents' work or studies.

Preschool education is provided in accordance with the Basic Education Act. If a child additional municipal early childhood education, it will be arranged at a preschool.

Public early childhood education groups are organized at the Linnoituksen Päiväkoti Daycare Center. There are also activities and care days aimed at families.

You can apply for a spot in an early childhood education option all year round, but no later than
4 months before the need for care. In a sudden situation due to employment or studies, a spot must be applied for at least two weeks before the start of needed care.

The childcare place that best meets the guardians' wishes will be arranged in early autumn if the early childhood education application has been submitted 4 months in advance. At other times, childcare places will be offered where there are free spots. If the child does not receive the childcare place that the guardians wish for, a transfer application can be submitted. The transfer application must be submitted by March 31.3.

A child's early childhood education location or group may change during the care relationship for operational reasons by mutual agreement with the guardians.
The decision on early childhood education will be announced no later than two weeks before the start of the provided care.
