Sports Academy

Hamina upper secondary school students can apply to the sports academy, which allows ambitious athletes to practice in the morning. Morning practices are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. It is possible to receive 26 credits from the academy during upper secondary school.

The Academy's main goal is to combine schooling and sports. The Academy offers good and flexible study and coaching opportunities for athletes who are aiming for or already at the top of the national and/or international rankings.

The South Kymenlaakso Sports Academy is part of the national sports academy network. Hamina High School has been a member of EKA for about 15 years. Every year, about 40 students from Hamina High School participate in the academy activities.

Applications to the South Kymenlaakso Sports Academy are made using a separate application form. Students who receive a study place from the Sports Academy's partner institution can be accepted to the academy.
