Registration for the autumn 2026 high school entrance exams must be submitted to the principal or guidance counselor by May 28, 2025.

Upper secondary school applications are made electronically via the joint application at www.opintopolku.fi

The joint application for spring 2026 is February 18-March 18, 2025.

School starts on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 9 am.

Wilma codes

If you come to Hamina Upper Secondary School from Hamina basic education, you and your guardian will have the old Wilma IDs (until August 2026). Those coming from elsewhere will receive their IDs by letter.

Learning materials

Students covered by extended compulsory education receive learning materials (computer, textbooks, other learning materials) from upper secondary school during the first days of school. 

Meals

If you have food allergies, fill out the special diet form, which can be found on the Kymijoki catering services website: 

makunne.fi → Kymijoki restaurant services → Forms → School meals, order special diets.

Traveling

If your journey to school is more than 7 km, you can apply for school travel allowance from OmaKela, which means that school trips are free of charge for those entitled to school travel allowance.
