Sustainability

Our goal is
- Increasing sorting, reducing waste and improving recycling efficiency
We will purchase sorting containers for different waste types at all locations and take concrete measures to reduce the amount of waste, including eliminating disposable containers at public events where possible and reducing the number of paper prints. - Communicating about environmental actions
We create an environmental communication plan for museums, which will make communication easier and clearer. - Influencing partners and stakeholders through one's own activities and communications
We piloted a responsible exhibition production concept in the first museum exhibition in the vaulted cellar. The exhibition design takes particular account of the reuse and recyclability of materials.
We familiarize employees and interns with the Ecocompass goals and display recycling instructions at our locations to ensure that the goals are met. We also instruct our partners. We also organize workshops and demonstrations related to repair and recycling. - Increasing biodiversity in the Vehkalahti Village Museum area
We cherish nature by maintaining a diverse plant species. This is made possible by a management plan for the area, landscape maintenance sheep, and beehives that support plant pollination. In addition, an insect hotel and birdhouses will be purchased for the area. Household, garden, and toilet waste will be composted.
