Sea and archipelago

The sea and the archipelago have always been a part of Hamina and its people.
The approximately 400 islands in the Hamina area offer spaciousness, natural peace and idyllic marinas. From Hamina you can explore the outer archipelago by sea and the Eastern Gulf of Finland National Park. Did you know that the National Park includes dozens of small islands and islets, each less than one square kilometer in size?
Scheduled fixed route vessels transport visitors from Kotka Harbour to Tammio during the summer. Self-drive boaters, on the other hand, can berth at several natural harbors and landing sites.
Many of the islands, including the Majasaari-Nuokko Islands, offer great settings for hiking and fishing in all seasons. The Hamina archipelago also falls on the Arctic route, the spring migration route of Arctic waterfowl: in May you can marvel at the migratory birds traveling in flocks of hundreds to nest in the Arctic regions.
Our archipelago also offers enchanting nature and hiking trails.
