Rewarding distinguished athletes and those behind physical education and sports
Proposals for 2025 no later than December 14, 2025.

The City of Hamina annually awards distinguished athletes. The award can be received at the beginning of the award year on 1.1 January. An athlete registered in the City of Hamina or a team or organization registered in Hamina. If in team sports the majority of the team members are from Hamina, all team members will be awarded. Otherwise, only team members from Hamina will be awarded.
Individual athletes, coaches and teams are rewarded with financial scholarships. Under-15s and veteran athletes are only rewarded for exceptionally great achievements.
The award is based on placing 1-3 in the Finnish Championship or representing the country in a match or higher achievements. The athlete or team receiving the award must belong to a sports club that is part of a national sports association that has signed an agreement on doping testing.
The City of Hamina also rewards distinguished club members and active residents. They are rewarded for decades of work to get the residents of Hamina moving or to promote physical activity.
