MOBO checkpoints and Fixed checkpoints
Fixed controls are fixed orienteering controls in the terrain that allow you to go outdoors with the whole family or clan! Print the map and go enjoy nature.
MOBO orienteering
Three new mobile orienteering courses, or fixed-track courses for the digital age, have opened in Hamina. All you need is your smartphone to take with you to the forest!
More information about MOBO and instructions for downloading the application can be found on the Finnish Orienteering Federation's website: MOBO – navigate with your smartphone
The app gives you a map and compass on your smartphone. You can also mark checkpoints with your phone.
You can also find easy instructions at the START, or starting point, of each MOBO course.
MOBO courses are great for starting your orienteering hobby and trying out orienteering, as you can find as many controls as you want in the terrain in any order, at your own pace and whenever it suits you. Experience the thrill of success and try a new way of orienteering!
MOBO orienteering courses are part of Physical Education Instructor student Valtteri Heikkinen's thesis for Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
