Hamina Tattoo Festival is on its way towards a more environmentally responsible approach!

We are building the Ecocompass environmental system. The Ecocompass environmental certificate will be audited by an independent expert at the Hamina Tattoo 2026 event.

We also hope that event organizers and partners will participate in more environmentally responsible activities through their own actions!

For us, Hamina Tattoo is more than music: it is about preserving traditions and caring for our shared environment. This year, we are making our environmental work even more determined: we have adopted the official Eco-Compass environmental system, the first audit of which will be carried out during the 2026 event.

We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our event through concrete actions:

• Local experience on foot: Hamina Tattoo is a walkable festival. All of our official venues are located in the center of Hamina, within a short walking distance of each other. We encourage our audience and staff to travel between venues on foot or by bike.
• Circular economy in procurement: We make purchases with common sense in mind. We primarily reuse existing materials, secondarily borrow or rent, and only buy new when necessary.
• Exact materials: When making new purchases, we pay attention to the quality and recyclability of materials. We prefer products and partners that have an official and independent environmental label (such as the Nordic Swan Ecolabel or the EU Ecolabel).
• Sorting and recycling: We will make waste sorting as clear as possible for participants and staff. We will systematically improve our recycling rate in cooperation with local waste management.
• Shared commitment: Our Eco-Compass work also obliges our partners. We engage in continuous dialogue with performers, catering services and other stakeholders so that we can measurably improve event production year after year.

We also hope that event visitors and partners will participate in more environmentally responsible activities through their own actions!

• Hamina Tattoo's venues are within walking distance of each other. We prefer and recommend moving between the venues on foot or by bike.
  
• We recommend choosing the electronic ticket option. Electronic tickets are less environmentally damaging than physical paper tickets.
  
• Help us keep the event venues clean! Do not litter and follow the instructions given at the event venues regarding cleanliness, e.g. regarding sorting.
  
• Your own reusable water bottle is an ecological and economical choice. Water dispensers can be found at Raatihuoneentori, Hamina Market, Kesäpuisto and Lipputorni Park, and you can fill your own drinking container free of charge.

The theme of the 2026 Hamina Tattoo is The Baltic Sea – a sea of ​​safety and life. The theme is reflected in both the program and the visual identity, emphasizing the connection, culture, and shared responsibility of the Baltic Sea countries for our vibrant sea. 

Hamina Tattoo's partner, the John Nurminen Foundation, has been working to save the Baltic Sea for over 30 years. The foundation implements effective conservation measures for the Baltic Sea and ensures that the stories of the sea are passed on to future generations. A clean sea enables a flourishing culture.

When purchasing through Lippu.fi, you can add a donation amount of your choice to the ticket price (sold as an additional product). The Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted seas in the world. The Baltic Sea can be saved if we act together now.

Wheelchair + assistant tickets are on sale for the Opening Concert and Marching Show performances held at Hamina Bastion, allowing the accompanying person to attend the events free of charge with the person who purchased the ticket.

The parking area between Hamina Bastion and the Vallikenttä baseball field has parking spaces for people with disabilities. The parking area is accessed via Kari Lindbergin katu and access from the parking area to Hamina Bastion is via a tunnel.

At the opening concert and March Show performances, the event organizer will provide general assistants to help customers with limited mobility to their seats, if necessary, via the ramp at the main entrance leading to Hamina Bastion or through the tunnel coming from Vallikenättä.

Guide dogs are entitled to accompany their handler at events.

Hamina Bastion has fixed disabled toilets for women and men, as well as accessible baja huts during the event.

The old courtyards of the fortress are mainly flat and easy to walk through. All are accessible. Surface materials vary from courtyard to courtyard (e.g. sand, gravel, grass and paving). The sidewalks, through which some of the courtyards are reached, are elevated. The courtyards are at the same level as the sidewalks.

Courtyards may include outbuildings and basements that are partially accessible to the public (e.g. art exhibitions). These may have thresholds or stairs that prevent barrier-free access to the premises.

During popular outdoor concerts, there are a lot of people in the area. As there are no separate disabled stands, visibility to the performers may vary.

There are no public toilets in the courtyards.

Wheelchair + assistant tickets are available for sale at the Tattoo Club, allowing the accompanying person to enter the event free of charge with the person who purchased the ticket. The club does not have numbered seating or separate wheelchair spaces.

The market square parking area has parking spaces designated for disabled people.

The entrance to the event area is on the same level as the main club area. The viewing area for the performance stage, the restaurant's service counters and the bajajas for customer use are located on the same level. Hamina Market Square is paved with stone.

Guide dogs are entitled to accompany their handler at events.

The Tattoo Club has accessible booths.
