  • Arttu Huopainen South-East Corner

South-East Corner is a jazz band led by a Hamina-born drummer Arttu Huopainen. Arttu also composes the music for South-East Corner. The music is a mix of jazz tradition and themes from his home region. A combination of different saxophones, a double bass and a drum kit form the band, which plays airily, offering a wide range of timbres. The songs feature diverse rhythms, singing themes and plenty of room for improvisation.

  • Netherlands Navy Jazz Band

The Royal Netherlands Navy Jazz Band, which brings an international touch to the Tattoo Jazz ensemble, represents the absolute pinnacle of Dutch military music. It promises an energetic mix of traditional swing and versatile jazz. These top professionals, who 'sail' from the port city of Rotterdam to Hamina, prove that uniforms and a relaxed jazz atmosphere go perfectly together.

  • Sami Saari and the Jazz Boys
A five-piece ensemble.

The music of Sami Saari and the Jazzpojat band is ear-stirring and danceable swinging jazz and soul from Finland and elsewhere. Known as a small farmer and big consumer of Finnish soul music, Saari has always been a jazzman at heart and has therefore put together a band in which the strong soloism and unfailing swing of the jazz boys join forces with a charismatic soloist. Saari's inventive and engaging Finnish lyrics bring a level of identification to everyone! In 2026, the band will celebrate its tenth anniversary.

Led by Johannes Granroth, the supergroup PEELA presents its own vision of today's social music. It fuses the styles of the African-American musical tradition into a coherent whole, where playful improvisation, strong melodies, lush harmony and captivating rhythms play a central role. Their music is instrumental, but is sometimes embellished with the virtuoso vocals of Maja Mannila. PEELA has already released three albums, the latest of which, titled “Notbad”, was released in March 2024 via Eclipse Music.
