Defence Forces event field

During the Hamina Tattoo, you can get to know the activities of the Defence Forces at the Defence Forces event area in front of the main building of the Reserve Officers' School (Kadettikoulunkatu 7).

The event area is open from 29.7 July to 1.8 August from 12 noon to 19 pm (until 18 pm on Saturdays).

The opening ceremony of the event field will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at 4:30 p.m. The opening remarks will be delivered by Colonel Timo Hänninen, Director of the Army Academy. The Navy Band will perform at the opening ceremony.

Defence Forces event area:

  • At the event site, you can learn about the operations of the Army, Navy and Air Force and conscript training, Army equipment and conscription issues.
  • You can enjoy wonderful musical performances by various conscript and reservist ensembles of the Finnish Defence Forces' bands on the field every day.
  • In the main building of the Reserve Officers' Training School, you can try flying the F-35 in the Air Force's F-35 flight simulator game.
  • Pasi crew transport vehicle rides are organized daily from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m.
  • The Utti Jaeger Regiment will conduct a helicopter flyover in connection with the Tattoo parade on July 30, 2026.
  • There is also a Military Home sales point with treats.

Live music at the event venue:

  • The opening ceremony, which will begin on Wed 29 July at 4:30 PM, will feature performances by the Finnish Navy's conscript band and the Merileijonat drum group.
  • Thu 30.7. at 17 pm Rakuunasoittokunta conscript band Hallakko
  • Fri 31.7. at 17 pm Concert Band of the Finnish Defence Forces Conscript Band
  • Sat 1.8. at 17 pm Finnish Defence Forces Conscript Band Drum Group and Riflemanship Group, Reservist Leijona Drum Group
