Arrival at Hamina Tattoos

Hamina Tattoo will be held from 27 July to 1 August 2026. The event will cause unusual traffic arrangements in the Hamina city centre. Those travelling in the area are advised to be prepared for traffic jams, allow sufficient time for movement, and exercise special caution. Please use public transport instead of your own car. The easiest way to get between the Hamina Tattoo venues is on foot.

Unusual driving and parking arrangements

  • There is a driving ban on the Town Hall Square from 27 July to 3 August 2026. 
  • There will be a driving ban on Sädekatu between Pikkuympyräkatu and Raatihuoneentori from 27 July to 3 August 2026. Driving is permitted with a permit.
  • Tattoo Street, also known as Fredrikinkatu, will be closed to vehicle traffic from Monday, July 27.7th, from 6 a.m. between Raatihuoneentori and Vallikatu until the morning of August 3.8rd. 
  • Isoympyräkatu is closed to vehicle traffic from the intersection with Fredrikinkatu until the morning of 27 July to 3 August 2026.
  • Isoympyräkatu between Rauhankatu and Kirkkokatu closed to vehicle traffic (permitted for those with permits).
  • Mannerheimintie between Rautatienkatu and Pikkuuympyräkatu will be restricted to vehicle traffic from 27 July to 3 August 2026.
  • Isoympyräkatu between Rauhankatu and Fredrikinkatu will be restricted and partially closed to vehicle traffic from 27 July to 3 August 2026.
  • Pikkuympyräkatu between Kadettikoulunkatu and Torikatu will be restricted and partially closed to vehicle traffic from 27 July to 3 August 2026.
  • Rauhankatu between Ilmarinkatu and Pikkuuympyräkatu will be restricted to vehicle traffic from 27 July to 3 August 2026.
  • Kaivokatu will be closed to traffic from 30.7 to 3.8.2026 until the morning between Puistokatu and Maariankatu.
  • The Rauhankatu parking lot is completely reserved for the event from Monday, July 27.7th at 6 am.
  • On Thursday, July 30.7th, the day of the Tattoo Parade, starting at 10 am, vehicle traffic will be restricted from Isoympyräkatu in the direction of Raatihuone. After the Tattoo Parade, the bands will leave for Kadettikoulunkatu and continue past the RUK main building.

Parking areas

Parking spaces for cars can be found on Tervasaari and in the parking area of ​​the demolished central school on Viipurinkatu. The disabled parking area is located in the parking area by the Bastion maintenance tunnel on Kari Lindbergin katu. There are also disabled parking spaces at the market square. 

Always check temporary signage and road signs carefully. Incorrectly parked cars will be towed to the asphalt field on Kubbenkatu.

Public transport, taxis and bike parks

  • Local bus stops from the Hamina Market Square will be moved to Sibeliuskatu near Kotipizza and the Jack-Up restaurant from 27.7 a.m. on July 08th to 2.8 a.m. on August 03nd.
  • The taxi stop is located on Kaivokatu at the southern end of the market square.
  • The temporary bicycle parking is located at: Isoympyräkatu 29-33. The bicycle parking is free of charge.
  • Onnibus will arrange additional services during Tattoo on the route from Hamina to Helsinki. For more information, visit: onnibus.com/hamina-tattoo

  • During the Tattoo, a Kymenlaakso Taksi taxi lane will be set up on Vallikatu. In addition, temporary taxi stands will be set up on Rauhankatu and near Meyer Hamina on Maariankatu.
  • The Tattoo train will operate from Wednesday to Saturday from 10 am to 21 pm during the event. You can board the train from the Raatihuone, Tori and Tervasaari stops. A single ticket costs €5, a day wristband €8. In addition, the Tattoo train, which serves drinks, will operate from Monday to Saturday from 14 pm to 21 pm; departures from Raatihuoneentori are always on the hour.
