The International Hamina Tattoo Military Music Festival will be held from 27 July to 1 August 2026.
The Tattoo Week program traditionally includes concerts, a parade and numerous free events. The main events are the March Show performances held at Hamina Bastion.

In 2026, the theme of Hamina Tattoo will be the Baltic Sea. The diversity of the Baltic Sea and its unifying power will be reflected in the festival's program, offering the audience both familiar tunes and new experiences.
Hamina Tattoo Magazine
You can now immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Hamina Tattoo with the brand new Tattoo Magazine. You can read the online version of the magazine via the link. You can also pick up the printed magazine free of charge from various distribution points in the city of Hamina. Restaurant services during the event
During Hamina Tattoo from 27 July to 1 August 2025, local cafes and restaurants will be serving in Hamina, which may have their own Tattoo-related offers. In addition, during Hamina Tattoo, there will be café and restaurant services that will only be available during the event week.

Arrival and transport arrangements
Hamina Tattoo will be held from 27 July to 1 August 2026. The event will cause unusual traffic arrangements in the Hamina city centre. Those travelling in the area are advised to be prepared for traffic jams, allow sufficient time for movement, and exercise special caution.

A unique event arena in the heart of the fortress city
Hamina Bastion, the main stage of Hamina Tattoo, is an event arena to remember! The unique setting combined with the fortress town's long military history guarantees its visitors an unforgettable marching show experience. Thanks to the large summertime removable tent, the shows are successful in all weathers.
The facilities of Hamina Bastion can be used and adapted to the requirements and nature of the event. The historical fortress environment combined with a large summer tent provides a framework for organizing exhibitions, concerts, theater performances and musicals, company and association anniversaries, festivals and other large public events. Both the event field and the vaulted spaces can be rented separately or together.

At Hamina Bastion, it is possible to enjoy various menu options during the March Show performances before the show begins. Restaurant services are only available by prior reservation.

Fredrikinkatu 9

During Tattoo Week, free concerts are held daily in front of the Park Hall in the Summer Park next to the Market Square.
The park house has previously served as a hotel building and the premises of the Swedish Society of Music. Today, the premises house the Kotka Regional Music Institute.

The eight radial streets of Hamina's old circular centre start from the Town Hall Square. The Town Hall is located in the Town Hall Square, in the centre of the circular centre, and is currently used as the city's central administration office. The premises also include Café Town Hall. The building has previously housed a bank and a police department, among other things.
The Town Hall Square is completely closed to traffic during Tattoo week. The radial streets leading from the Town Hall Square are partially closed to traffic during Hamina Tattoo.

The Defence Forces event field is organized on the field in front of the main building of the Reserve Officers' School. The Reserve Officers' School has operated in Hamina since the 1920s.

Fredrikinkatu

Photo: Vesa Hovi Tattoo Street is a common living room for all festival guests and Hamina residents in the heart of the city, at the Town Hall Square and Fredrikinkatu. It is a sunny pedestrian street full of music, dance, café treats, restaurants and stalls. The stalls on Tattoo Street are open from morning to night throughout the festival.

Satamakatu 12

Hamina Market Square is a lively market square in the middle of the city. The Market Square used to be a baseball field and its shape can still be seen today. So you can buy bread from the first shop, flowers from the second and fish from the third. During Tattoo Week, the Tattoo club tent will be set up on the Market Square, offering daily programs for both children and adults. The evening program includes music ranging from pop to jazz.

The yard of Römpöt's house. Be enchanted by the old private courtyards of the Hamina fortress area, which open their gates to the public during Hamina Tattoo. You can tour 15 lovely courtyards in the unique circular city, experiencing living cultural history and enjoying courtyard concerts, Pop Up cafes, art exhibitions and flea markets. You may also see residents of Hamina Hywiä dressed in historical costumes in the courtyards.

Tattoo Jazz will be held in a renovated setting at Restaurant Meyer. The historic stone building, built in 1890 by AW Meyer, is one of Hamina's most significant landmarks. It is not just a building, but a living part of the city's history and culture, offering a unique meeting place for locals and visitors alike.
Restaurant Meyer is part of the Meyer Hamina service complex. In addition to restaurant services, the premises also include a hotel and nightclub activities. In the summer, the street-level terrace area is a wonderful place to spend the day and enjoy cold drinks and dishes from the separate Wine & Cafe menu.

Ecology
Hamina Tattoo Festival is on its way towards a more environmentally responsible approach!
We are building the Ecocompass environmental system. The Ecocompass environmental certificate will be audited by an independent expert at the Hamina Tattoo 2026 event.
We also hope that event organizers and partners will participate in more environmentally responsible activities through their own actions!
Volunteers
Come and volunteer to help make the Hamina Tattoo military music festival happen!
Hamina Tattoo 27.7.1.8.2026 is a city-wide military music festival for music lovers of all ages and offers a wide variety of programs for the whole day. You won't experience this anywhere else, domestic and international bands are visible in the street scene wherever you go! As a volunteer at the event, you can participate in the implementation of the event in a variety of tasks.

Hamina Tattoo Friends Association
Hamina Tattoo Friends Association is an association founded in 2015, with the purpose of supporting the implementation of Hamina Tattoo in various ways and promoting knowledge of international military music and culture. The association promotes and maintains the positive Hamina Tattoo spirit by organizing, among other things, trips to other Tattoo events. The association welcomes everyone interested in military music to join its activities!
