Hamina Tervasaari port area traffic barriers in use again
The bollards at the southern end of the Tervasaari port area in Hamina have been repaired and the road closure in the port area will continue until August 31, 2026. The second bollard at the southern end was broken, so the bollards were down for safety reasons.
You can obtain a code from the ASIO reservation system to open the barriers if the port area is needed, for example for boat launching. The barriers open automatically when driving away from the port area.
Opening of roadblocks
You can obtain an access code from the City of Hamina's Asio reservation system, which you enter into the reader. The code will be sent to your email and is valid for the current day.

Objectives of the experiment to close the Tervasaari port area to vehicle traffic:
Closing the Tervasaari area to vehicle traffic will increase safety in the port area, as vehicles and pedestrians will be directed to use different traffic and parking areas. The safety of cyclists will also increase when vehicle traffic is blocked in the port area.
The experiment will develop the area's recreational use opportunities. The area is a popular leisure destination and the experiment will enable a more diverse use of the area for events and recreation.
The third goal is to increase the opportunities for existing and potentially new operators in the region to expand and develop new business opportunities.
