The City Secretary's duties are broad and responsible. Eriksson acts as the city's sole lawyer and is responsible for overseeing the legality of decision-making and the smooth running of the administration. The job description includes, among other things:

  • As secretary of the city council and acting as a recorder.

First impression of Hamina: A nice and competent small town

Although the position, which began on March 9, was Eriksson's first visit to Hamina, the city has immediately made a positive impression.

In his free time, the new city secretary enjoys running, reading and going to the gym. Boating is also close to his heart; he owns a motorboat together with his parents. Eriksson has lived in Helsinki for years and intends to travel to Helsinki regularly to visit his positions of trust, friends and his goddaughter.

Alexander Eriksson will work in Hamina until the end of August, after which he plans to return to the Association of Local and Regional Authorities.
