Hamina Fortress' Christmas event complex includes familiar Christmas events

The Hamina Fortress Christmas event complex brings together the familiar and atmospheric Christmas events of Hamina!   

Hamina Christmas opening weekend Fri-Sun 28.11-30.11.

Hamina's "Our Christmas opening" will be celebrated on Friday, November 28th. In Trykininpuisto, next to the Town Hall, with a program suitable for the whole family from 5-7 p.m. The Christmas parade will depart from Hamina Market Square at 5 p.m. towards Trykininpuisto. Santa Claus and the animal yard will entertain children, and the program will also include Christmas greetings from the city of Hamina and the parish of Hamina. The lights of the Kuusikuja, implemented by Kehittyvä Hamina ry, will be turned on at 6 p.m., after which there will be an opportunity to participate in the Most Beautiful Christmas Carols evening church service in St. John's Church starting at 6:30 p.m. Our Christmas opening is organized by Kehittyvä Hamina ry, Hamina yrittäjät ry, Hamina parish and the city of Hamina.

Hamina's Christmas opening weekend is celebrated with various Christmas vendors. The Merchant's House Museum Anna's Christmas Market are on Saturday, November 29.11th from 12-16pm. The museum's Miracle of the Nativity Christmas exhibition will also open at the same time. On Sunday, November 30.11th from 11-17pm are Art studios' Christmas sales 12-16 pm (Rauhankatu 6).

Other Christmas events

Old Vault Christmas A free Christmas event with a program will be held at Hamina Bastion on Sat-Sun 13-14.12 December from 10 am to 16 pm. Admission to the event is free.

Hamina Merchants' Museum Christmas exhibition " The miracle of birth" tells the story of the miracle and history of childbirth. The exhibition can be seen during the museum's opening hours from November 29.11 to December 28.12, and admission to the museum is free on Wednesdays and with a museum card. 

Next to the Town Hall, in Trykinin Park, a new building, built by Kehittyvä Hamina ry, will be built. Six months, where the trees are decorated by different companies. The trees can be seen from the end of November until Epiphany and you can also vote for your favorite. 

Hamina parish implements the popular Follow the stars- Christmas cribs- exhibition sites around Hamina. 

The Old Houses Association of the Fort organizes traditional Hamina's Christmas calendar windows. Every day from December 1st to 24.12th at 18 pm, a decorative Christmas window opens in the old house in the Hamina fortress area.  

To the Hamina Christmas light competition You have until November 16.11th to register. The competition has two categories: Category 1: home yards or balconies and Category 2: yards, facades and shop windows of companies and communities.
