The Hamina City Council met on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall council chamber. The meeting discussed two changes to the city plan, which the council unanimously approved.

• With the change in the local plan, the city council decided to increase the building rights of buildings serving educational activities in the Uuden-Summa school block and adjacent public areas, and to review the area reservations, boundaries, plan markings and regulations of the plan to reflect the current situation that is already under construction.
• The local plan and the amendment to the local plan in block 268 of the Hevoshaa district and in the adjacent public areas at Huutokallionkatu 33 will change the current block area of ​​buildings serving social services and healthcare and the block area of ​​parking spaces into a block area of ​​administrative and office buildings.
