The Hamina City Council convened on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Town Hall. The meeting discussed, among other things, a request for rectification made by a municipal member regarding the decision to appoint the technical director. The City Council decided to reject the request for rectification as unfounded on the grounds set out in the minutes. In addition, the meeting held a shareholders' meeting of Haminan Merivesilaitos Oy and amended the articles of association of Haminan Merivesilaitos Oy regarding the number of members of the company's board of directors. The meeting also discussed a request for a preliminary opinion on the sale of shares in Kaakon Alueverkko Oy owned by Linnotinuk Voima Oy.

In addition, the meeting appointed the city's representatives to the Annual General Meeting of Kaakkois-Suomen Tieto Oy, the Annual General Meeting of Linnoitusing Voima Oy, and the Annual General Meeting of Kymijoki Ravintopalvelut Oy.
