Hamina City Council convened on March 31, 2025

The Hamina City Council convened on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Town Hall. The meeting discussed, among other things, policies regarding the refund of unjustified payments. In addition, the meeting decided that the city would withdraw from the memberships of Kehittyvä Hamina ry and Elävät kaupunkikeskustat ry. After withdrawing from the memberships of the associations, the city will, however, continue to cooperate with the associations. The meeting also decided to approve the 2025 activity report and 2026 usage plan of the Welfare Promotion Fund.

In addition, the meeting discussed three issues related to land acquisition under the Pre-emption Act. According to the decision of the City Council, the city will not exercise the right of pre-emption in three different real estate transactions in the Reitkalli and Vilniemi areas.
