The Hamina City Council convened on August 11, 2025 at the Town Hall.

The Hamina City Board convened for the first meeting and seminar of the autumn term on Monday, August 11, 2025. At the seminar, the city's department heads presented current issues in their respective departments to the members of the City Board. At the regular meeting, the City Board decided to propose to the City Council that an additional appropriation be added to the 2025 budget for the contractual obligations of Linnoitusing Voima Oy. In addition, the City Board decided to propose to the Council for approval the amendments made to the Administrative Regulations of the City of Hamina due to the changes in the law. The amendments made to the Administrative Regulations take into account, for example, the legislation on micro-traffic permits applicable to municipalities.

In addition, the meeting decided, among other things, to update the city board's operating rules, to price the settlement areas in accordance with the city beach master plan in the Saviniemi area, and to sell condominiums. The city board also decided to apply for the property located in the Hamina municipality of a person who died without an heir to the city of Hamina. The funds received from the rental or sale of the property are intended to be directed to the welfare promotion fund.
