The City of Hamina's online service received an honorable mention in the Grand One 2025 competition

The website of the City of Hamina, which was renewed in January 2024, was awarded an honorable mention in the Ecological Web Service category of the Grand One 2025 competition. The winners and honorable mentions were announced on March 27, 2025 at the Grand One gala in Kattilahalli, Helsinki.

The jury justified the honorable mention of the city of Hamina as follows:

“The work demonstrates a strong understanding of the strategic importance of sustainability and a concrete commitment to environmental responsibility. The company responsible for the work has established a sustainability working group and trained its staff, which creates long-term impact. The impact of the concept and visual style on the carbon footprint has been taken into account in an exemplary manner, and the description of the process and optimization measures is particularly commendable. The small file size of the website ensures low emissions.”
