The City of Hamina's sponsorship cooperation application is now open.

The City of Hamina annually concludes sponsorship agreements to support sports teams from Hamina or athletes representing Hamina, either financially or by providing products or services. In order to promote equality, sponsorship applications will be made between 3.11.2025 and 5.1.2026 via an electronic application. The sponsorship agreement includes all essential obligations binding on the parties. Obligations may include, for example, raising the image of Hamina, media visibility or improving the city's awareness.

The sponsorship principles have been drawn up to ensure transparency and equality when making sponsorship decisions. Sponsorship is not a procedure that overlaps with grants granted by the city. When making sponsorship, the city reflects sponsorship offers against its own marketing and other communication needs. Important factors for the city may include the visibility of the sponsor, professional skills, networks, public relations and innovativeness.

Principles of sponsorship cooperation:

  1. Collaboration is a means of marketing communication for Hamina. Collaboration is reciprocal and creates genuine cooperation between the city of Hamina and the person or club being sponsored.
  2. The city's sponsorship targets include sports teams from Hamina or athletes representing Hamina.
  3. The person being sponsored must be a person or entity/team representing Hamina. The contact person for the sponsorship agreement must be of legal age.
  4. The sponsored team or person receives financial compensation or other material benefits for their activities from the collaboration. The recipient of the grant must state in its information, marketing and annual report that it has received a grant from the municipality to support its activities.
  5. The cooperation promotes the strategy of the City of Hamina and the sponsored party is committed to non-discrimination and the principles of a safe space.
  6. The sponsored team or person must fit naturally into the marketing communications image of the city of Hamina and create a positive image of our world-class small town through their activities.
  7. The sponsored team or person must use the logo of the City of Hamina or other marketing material agreed upon with the city's communications department.
  8. The sponsored team or person grants the City of Hamina the right to use themselves/the target in the municipality's marketing communications and participates in and represents the team at agreed events organized by the City of Hamina.
  9. The sponsored team or person will deliver the agreed marketing materials to the City of Hamina for use in the municipality's communications.
  10. The City of Hamina has the right to use positive image and communication material resulting from sponsorship cooperation in its own communications.
  11. Sponsorship support may be recovered if the terms and conditions of the sponsorship support have not been complied with.
  12. The use of sponsorship support must be verified by submitting a report on the use of the support by the end of October.
  13. The granted support will be recovered if the recipient has provided incorrect or misleading information in their application or has neglected to submit the accounting according to the instructions within the deadline. Neglect of accounting obligations or abuses may lead to the rejection of subsequent sponsorship support applications.
  14. Sponsorship requires that the council allocate funds to the budget for the intended purpose for the year for which sponsorship is being applied for.
  15. Sponsorship support must be applied for in writing.
  16. The City of Hamina's sponsorship working group (Vitality Director, Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager, and Communications Representative) selects the sites to be sponsored annually based on applications, the types of support granted to the sites, and the amounts of support, and determines the length and details of partnerships.
  17. The mayor makes a decision on sponsorships based on the working group's presentation.
  18. The public call will open in November-December.

Applications are submitted via an electronic form, which must be carefully completed and returned by the deadline. Applications received outside the application period will not be processed.

Applications open November 3, 2025-January 5, 2026. Apply for sponsorship electronically at this link.
