Hamina Tattoo 2026 Marching show is a multi-artistic experience to the beat of the Baltic Sea
If you had imagined military music as just stiff marching, Hamina Tattoo is the perfect place to change your mind. This year's March Show, taking place from 29 July to 1 August 2026, is not just a concert; it is a two-hour, immersive journey that takes the viewer right into the pulse of this year's theme – the Baltic Sea – a sea of safety and life. Under the largest tent in Europe, in the historic Hamina Bastion, seven top bands from around the world will take turns taking to the stage.
The echo of bagpipes and the power of the sea
Each of the seven orchestras will bring their own unique character and expertise to the arena for the audience to admire. Particularly anticipated is The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes (RCMP), Drums and Dancers From Canada. As the sound of bagpipes fills the Bastion and traditional costumes shimmer in the spotlight, it's easy to see why this group represents the absolute best of the RCMP.
Arriving from the port city of Rotterdam Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy brings with it the ruggedness and elegance of the true Marine Corps, proving why they are known in the international military music arena. Then, in their red uniforms, Swiss precision and musical elegance are served by the Ambassador of Swiss Military Music, Swiss Army Central Band.
Nordic ingenuity and Finland's own strength
Swedish minister highlights Nordic cooperation and the Baltic Sea theme Royal Swedish Navy Band, who is returning to Hamina after a ten-year break. Their playing is reminiscent of the waves of the archipelago sea – sometimes calm, sometimes enormous power.

Two talented puppeteers also bring their own delightful addition to the marching show, bringing a whole new, sensitive and story-like dimension to the show. The sturgeons they create come to life and move to the undulating tunes of the Baltic Sea theme, creating a hypnotic contrast together with the Navy's orchestra.
Grande Finale: A Symphony of Unity and Peace
The entire evening culminates in a stunning Grande Finale, when a total of around 500 players march into the arena at the same time. This massive joint performance is the heart of the March Show. The common tune that rings across borders is not just music; it is a concrete demonstration of the connection and shared responsibility of the Baltic Sea countries – and the entire world – in the face of security. As the music rolls over the audience, it is easy to feel pride and hope.
