Hamina once again had the honor of welcoming the participants of the regional national defense course!

The training, organized in cooperation with the Licensing and Supervision Agency and the Defence Forces (Karelia Brigade), brings together key personnel from municipalities, welfare regions, other authorities, business and organizations. The course, which is held at the Reserve Officers' School in Hamina in the autumn, focuses on comprehensive security, regional and local cooperation and preparedness.

The first day of training culminated in the traditional reception by the City of Hamina at the Town Hall. The city representatives – Elina Inkeroinen-Lalu, Chair of the City Council, Titta Erkkilä, Chair of the City Board, and Ilari Soosalu, Mayor – warmly welcomed the guests. During the welcome, the guests were given an overview of the history of the Town Hall and Tove Jansson’s magnificent paintings.

During the evening, thoughts were also exchanged on current issues in Hamina, such as the city's strategy and the vitality of the region - for example, we were delighted with the great news about Google's investments! At the core of the strategy are people, vitality and the economy: a strong economy also enables good security and care for its entirety.

The city representatives stated that the course participants will definitely have a great week ahead! So keep up the course and spend a rewarding week in Hamina.
