The Vitality and Wellbeing Committee will convene on September 18, 2025

The Hamina Vitality and Wellbeing Committee will convene on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The meeting will discuss the proposal of the City of Hamina regarding the preparation of the South Kymenlaakso employment region budget for 2027. The proposal identifies the need for close cooperation between municipalities, as the regional employment situation is currently challenging. The key objectives of the joint work are, among other things, customer-oriented services, taking into account local needs, and solving the skills shortage in Hamina companies. In terms of financing, the City of Hamina proposes that resources be allocated in particular to reducing long-term and youth unemployment and to secure sufficient funding for employment support for people over 55 years of age.
