The Vitality and Wellbeing Committee will convene on September 18, 2025

The Vitality and Wellbeing Committee will convene on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Town Hall. The meeting will discuss the first vitality program of the city of Hamina. The vitality program has been prepared for the years 2026–2030 and its goal is to strengthen the city's international position, business friendliness and attractiveness.

In addition, the committee will decide at its meeting on the awarding of the 2026 Well-Being Hamina grants. A total of 265,400 euros in grants are proposed to be distributed for cultural, youth and sports activities and other activities that promote well-being. The committee will also discuss the Well-Being Promotion Fund's activity report for 2025 and the use plan for 2026. The Well-Being Promotion Fund's use plan focuses on young people, the elderly and general well-being promotion.

The meeting will also discuss changes to the criteria for granting the municipal supplement. In future, the support would be known as the employment supplement and could be granted to companies and associations without being tied to wage subsidies. The reform aims to respond to the challenges of long-term unemployment.

The meeting will also respond to the council initiative regarding the inclusion of young people in decision-making. The city is strengthening the voice of young people by, among other things, developing participatory budgeting and intensifying cooperation between the youth council and decision-makers.
