The Hamina Vitality and Wellbeing Committee convened for the first time on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. At the meeting, the committee decided on several key issues related to organization and operations, such as the meeting schedule for autumn 2025.
At the meeting, the committee approved its rules of procedure, which correspond to the tasks and powers of the new committee. In addition, the committee made a proposal to the city government to establish councils for the elderly and disabled for the term of office 2025–2029. The councils are advocacy bodies in accordance with the Municipalities Act, which promote the participation and influence opportunities of the elderly and disabled population.
A representative of the committee was appointed to the Wellbeing Working Group for the term of office 2025–2029. The task of the working group is to put the goals of the Wellbeing Report and the City Strategy into practice and to report on its activities to the committee.
