The Vitality and Well-being Committee convened on September 11.12.2025, XNUMX
The Hamina Vitality and Wellbeing Committee convened on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Town Hall. The meeting decided, among other things, to award targeted grants to the Healthy Hamina Citizen for activities taking place in the first quarter of 2026. Associations have been able to apply for a separate targeted grant for activities to be organised during the first quarter of 2026 between November 3 and November 21, 2025. Several applications were received by the deadline. Target grants are one-off grants and the same criteria are used in assessing grant applications as for other targeted grants.
In addition, the meeting discussed a council initiative to develop open-water swimming and cold-water swimming recreational opportunities in Hamina. The council initiative has investigated the possibility of organizing a regular open-water swimming location, including by discussing with entrepreneurs operating in the Tervasaari area. The response states that the city does not currently have the resources necessary to organize the activity, but the development of the activity has been planned in an entrepreneur-led manner.
The minutes will be available on the city's website starting October 17, 2025.
