The Summer Park, established in the Lappeenranta bastion in the 1850s, opens from the market square, at the corner of the Puisthotalo building, and continues along the ramparts of the Lappeenranta bastion to Ankkalampi. The versatile summer park includes a playground, part of the fortress trail, and the Kesäpuisto Kavalierivalli monument, the monument to those who fell in the coastal battle, the Hamina Lotta monument, and the monument to the soldier boys.
The Myllynkivi monument on the shore of Ankkalampi Pond was erected in 1974. According to the legend associated with the Myllynkivi, King Gustav III of Sweden proposed to Empress Catherine II of Russia during the Hamina negotiations in 1783, and Catherine replied that she would only agree to the marriage if he could give Catherine II a proper kiss through the millstone.

Oolanninpuisto, the city's green oasis, has something for everyone. There are ten Finland 100 tree groups, each with ten Finnish trees. The water feature carrying seawater and the Oolannin pond bring the sea directly into the heart of the park. The park's playground, event lawn and fitness area offer activities, after which you can enjoy a leisurely snack in the picnic area or by grilling.
From Oolanninpuisto, paths and sidewalks will take you, for example, to the Rampsinkari recreation area for exercise, to the beach, to the skateboard ramp, to summer restaurants, or, if you go in the other direction, to the Finnish Flag Square.

-
As its name suggests, the Finnish Flag Square is located around the world's largest Finnish flag. The Finnish Flag Square is being built as a clear and peaceful entity, with the large Finnish flag as the center of attention. In spring 2020, the city organized a resident survey to collect ideas for the design of the square. The area, designed as a park, is currently being built, and the square will include recreation and play areas, a service building, and the possibility of organizing various events.

Volkonski Park, more familiarly known as Senior Park, is a nearby exercise facility where you will find an outdoor gym and various balance equipment. In the summer, you can also take part in park exercise in the park.
