Carpet washing sites

The city of Hamina has eight carpet cleaning locations, which are freely available to all city residents without reservation or payment.
There is a two-hour time limit for parking spaces at carpet cleaning locations.
Carpet cleaning locations will be open from May and will close before night frosts.
To make carpet cleaning comfortable and flexible for all users:
● washing areas are intended for washing carpets only
● Only carpets and other textiles may be washed in the basins
● shake off sand and loose debris before washing – they may clog the drain
● use environmentally friendly, phosphate-free detergents on carpet platforms
● be careful of water pressure – open taps carefully
● Use a protective cloth on light-colored carpets or rinse the ironer rollers, as there may be some color left on the ironer rollers.
● Each user must take care of the cleanliness of the washing area: for example, rinse the basins and remove debris/lint from the basin strainer, turn off the taps and take the debris to the waste bin.
● Drainage booms drain water from the carpets, final drying is done at home
● the area is unguarded, and the city is not responsible for carpets left at the carpet cleaning location
● Washing cars, other motor vehicles or car parts, etc. is prohibited.
Water is supplied to the pools from the water supply network and wastewater is discharged into the sewer network.
Don't drink the water from the washroom.
The city does not compensate for any damage that may occur due to improper use of the equipment.
