Stormwater fee

The stormwater fee is determined by the type of property. In block areas zoned for residential use, the fee is affected by the total number of residential apartments on the property. For other property types, the land area of ​​the property and the total area of ​​the buildings on the property are taken into account.

The stormwater fee is based on information from the municipal building and property register. If the property information changes or there is an error in the invoice information, the property owner/invoice recipient is asked to contact us primarily by email: hulevesilaskutus(a)hamina.fi

The collection of the stormwater fee does not require an agreement, but is based on the Land Use Act (Chapter 13 a, Sections 103 o and 103 n). The stormwater fee is a public law fee and is directly enforceable without a court decision or order. The current late payment interest must be paid on the overdue invoice, as well as the notification costs for sending a written payment reminder. The stormwater fee is VAT-free.

The owner or occupier of the property has the right to make a reminder of a public law payment within 14 days of receiving the invoice. Instructions for making a reminder are included with the invoice. Sending a reminder is only possible after receiving the stormwater invoice.

The written reminder must include information about the property (property ID and address) and a justification for why the property owner is applying for a change in the stormwater fee. The reminder must also include the contact information of the person making the reminder and where the response should be sent. A copy of the stormwater bill received is requested as an attachment to the reminder.

If an amendment to the stormwater fee has been requested, any collection measures will be suspended while the reminder is being processed. The reminder will be sent to the city registry office.
