The veterinary emergency service is intended only for animal illnesses requiring urgent care. The emergency service primarily provides first aid treatment, with any further treatment and more detailed diagnostics being carried out during office hours. Based on the call, the veterinarian will assess the need for treatment and the urgency of the patients. If the veterinarian is unable to answer the phone, please try calling again after a while. There is no callback service.

There is one veterinarian on duty in the Hamina region's environmental service area who treats both large and small animal patients. Small animals are treated at the veterinarian's own practice (Hamina, Virolahti or Pyhtää) and large animals are treated at farm visits. Small animals are not visited at home.
