Veterinary medicine

The Town of Hamina is responsible for organising basic veterinary services in the Hamina, Kotka, Miehikkälä, Pyhtää and Virolahti areas during office hours as well as emergency veterinary assistance at all times of the day for both livestock and pets. 

The services of city veterinarians include the care of large animals during farm visits, the care of small animals during appointments and the health care of production animals. Advice, as well as official duties in veterinary care, such as animal export and import inspections, animal disease control, and animal welfare duties are offered.

  • Veterinarians are best reached by phone on weekdays between 8 and 9 a.m. Non-urgent appointments should be made during phone hours. The Hamina clinic also offers online appointment booking.
  • In cases requiring urgent care, you can leave a message on the answering machine and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
  • The veterinarian on duty can be reached on weekdays from 15 pm to 08 am, and on weekends and public holidays by calling 0600 144 99.
